About the AIF

The Ames Intermodal Facility is a joint project between the City of Ames, CyRide, and Iowa State University. It provides convenient parking options for students, faculty/staff, and Ames residents.

  • Hayward Avenue and Chamberlain Streets (on the West side of campus)

Important Notes

  • No Refunds: All annual permits expire on July 31 and are nonrefundable
  • Privacy Statement: ISU e-commerce websites are developed following the university's privacy policies

Permit Sales

Permit Details

  • Validity Period: August 1 - July 31 annually
  • First Come, First Served: Permits are sold on a first come, first served basis.
  • No Refunds or Exchanges: Once the application is submitted, no refunds or exchanges are available.

Types of Permits

Annual Permits

  • Valid from August 1 through July 31
  • Covered Permit: $661 per year
  • Uncovered Permit: $250 per year

Monthly Permits

  • Currently not available for purchase

How to Purchase

  • Credit Card Only: Permits can be purchased with a credit card
  • Open Stall Counts: Parking enforcement perform stall counts during the first week of classes to check availability
  • Additional Space Availability: Available spaces are sold on a first-come, first-served basis after the open stall count

Additional Parking Options

Metered Parking

  • Rate: $1.50 per hour
  • Daily Maximum: $15

Carpool/Vanpool Parking

  • Limited to 20 spaces to qualified carpool/vanpool groups
